A collaborative culmination of four years of dance education. The 2025 BFA Cohort Choreographed, Directed, Marketed and Managed Production of Beyond the Glare is the beginning of professional careers for many students as they collaborate with designers one-on-one and begin to delve into the process of production. As the mentor to the student Stage Managers I oversaw the production from a birds eye level and worked closely with students to ensure the success of the production alongside Dr Biba Bell.

In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Eddy) and a creepy butler (Riff-Raff). Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named "Rocky."

Allesee Dance Theatre | One Hour

Eyes on the WatchTower explores the nuances of digital surveillance and community tracking in an evening-length performance. Through the use of multimedia design and movement, the company plays directly with techno-human relationships, asking: What are you looking for? Who are you looking at? Where are you looking? Who is controlling the narrative? Performers take audiences down the techno-mediated rabbit hole and into the world of digital surveillance, but it also examines if, how, and with whom we might imagine modes of tracking that make us feel safe.

A collaboration between students, faculty and guest choreographers in the Maggie Allesee Department of Dance and Theatre. This year the the concert was dedicated to the late Maggie Allesee our namsake and largest benefactor who said "We have movement in all of us, dance on." Three new works made their debut and 7 others were remounted and staged on a proscenium stage for the first time in a condensed 12-hour tech period and minimal dress rehearsal.

Shaina & Bryan Baira (Detroit) and Beth Graczyk (NYC) share an evening of new and evolving works as they grapple with methods of delayed decay through physical practice and engagement of self & other within the disintegrating material world. BAIRA & Graczyk’s notions of kinetic impulse will differentiate with image and form while threading together into an evening of performance which cultivates emergent community and care.
